Lockerbie String Quartet

The Lockerbie String Quartet has delighted Midwest audiences since 1982 concertizing as one of the premiere string quartets based in Indiana. The quartet has held residencies at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and at Butler University as well as being a participant in the Indiana Arts Commission's Touring Program. Recent concerts include "An Evening of Nocturnes" sponsored by Iindianapolis Symphony Orchestra, "Holiday Celebration" at the Marion County Public Library, and the "Mozart Birthday Celebration" sponsored by the Fine Arts Society. Serving as an ensemble-in-residence for the International Double Reed Congress held at Ball State University, the LSQ appeared in concert with bassonists and oboists who were featured at the congress. Players in the quartet are Kara Day Spurlock, violin; Ginny Womack, violin; Donna Lively Clark,viola; and Kurt Fowler, cello. Kara, Ginny, and Donna also perform with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Kurt is professor of cello at Indiana State University and plays in the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra. The LSQ offers a broad repertoire appropriate for FORMAL CONCERTS, WEDDINGS, RECEPTIONS, MEMORIAL SERVICES, as well as various FESTIVE EVENTS. A HOLIDAY CONCERT is also available.
